Trees are a source of oxygen, absorbing carbon dioxide and other atmospheric gases, thereby improving breathing air. They constantly draw water from the soil and play an important role in climatic conditions by evaporating this water through their leaves.

Trees provide many benefits for the continuation of life and ecosystem. Trees absorb bad smell and dirty gases from the air. It produces oxygen, which is indispensable for living things. Trees can cool the air up to 11.5-12°C according to the frequency in their location. Thus, by reducing the energy spent on cooling down, it saves energy. Water is saved because trees reduce evaporation. In addition, each tree returns the excess water it uses to the groundwater. It prevents soil loss by preventing erosion on inclined places. Trees reduce ultraviolet rays by up to half. According to research, people who live in places where afforestation is high are psychologically healthier than those where afforestation is low.

Today, with the increasing world population, consumption demands, fossil fuel uses, industrialization, urbanization, globalization, technological developments and trends adversely affect the environment we live in and the whole world. However, it is seen that it causes multifaceted destruction in the physical dimension due to reasons such as the diversification and increase of human demands and needs on natural systems and resources. It is foreseen that these destructions will bring about very different negative consequences in the future. The temperature of the earth is increasing due to the greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere and creating a greenhouse effect. This temperature increase is called global warming.
